Hestia & UK SAYS NO MORE attend Tower Hamlets Community Hub launch

On October 13th Hestia staff attended the launch of a new community hub, which will provide outreach and support groups for the Tower Hamlets community.

The event went brilliantly and Hestia’s Tower Hamlets domestic violence team were fortunate enough to speak to Mayor of Tower Hamlets, Jon Biggs, about the UK SAYS NO MORE campaign, who said that the campaign fit in perfectly with his aim to make Tower Hamlets a safe community.

Tower Hamlets’ launch of the Reach Community Centre also coincides wth their No Place For Hate campaign and the launch of their VAWG strategy.

The centre has been developed to ensure that it is as inclusive as possible, with the hiring of the hall and activities held developed around local need and consultation. Initial projects due to be delivered from the site include youth activities, residents meetings, healthy eating sessions, employment and training programmes and exercise sessions. via towerhamlets.gov.uk.

The Hestia team also were able to meet the Met Police team who posed for a photo with the No More Excuses poster. We’d like to thank all in attendance and everyone who has supported the campaign so far!
